The Autonics proximity sensor PS12-4DNU features outstanding noise protection and stable sensing performance due to its specialized sensor IC developed by Autonics. Body

This Autonics proximity sensor’s case and nut parts are made of Heat-resistant ABS. 

The PS12-4DNU features IP67 ingress protection.

The red LED on its body acts as the process indicator.

Connection

The Autonics NPN proximity switch PS12-4DNU features standard cable type connection. This black cable covers the sensor’s 3 wires. It is 4 mm in diameter and 2 meters in length.

Sensing specifications

This inductive sensor’s frame size is 12mm. The maximum distance that this sensor can detect its standard sensing target, which is a 12×12×1 mm piece of iron, is 4 mm. This so-called sensing distance differs from one sensing target to another, based on their material, size, etc.

Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive sensor, it is a big deal to know this concept. Every sensor can detect its standard sensing target in a specified range, no matter what changes occur in ambient temperature, voltage fluctuations, etc. This distance, which is called the setting distance, is from 0 to 2.8 mm for this Autonics PS Series proximity sensor.

The PS12-4DNU features NPN Normally Open control output. NPN stands for Negative-Positive-Negative transistors.

There are limitations in temperature and humidity in which PS12-4DNU NPN proximity switch is used:

Environment resistance is rated at no freezing or condensation.
