The Autonics cross-beam area sensor BWC40-10H has 40 mm optical axis pitch. The maximum sensing range of this cross beam area sensor is 7 meters, and the minimum sensing range is 1 meters.To find the object, it uses through beam sensing technology. Most of the material used as the sensing target for this product is opaque. There are 10 optical axes in this product. This product’s power supply ranges from 12 to 24 VDC and has a maximum current consumption of 100 mA, making it an excellent choice for use with programmable logic controllers.

The BWC40-10H is a high quality product which uses infrared LED of 850nm for transmission.

Body

The case of BWC40-10H is made of aluminum, and its sensing part and indicator are made of acrylic.

The sensor’s ingress protection rate is IP67 according to IEC standard. That means this sensor can be used in water with depth of up to 1 meter, for at most half an hour.

Connection

The Autonics cross-beam area sensor BWC40-10H features cable type connection. This cable is 4-wires and 5 mm in diameter and 300 mm in length.

Sensing specifications

This area sensor features a through-beam sensing type. The maximum distance that an area sensor can detect its standard sensing target in, is named sensing distance. The sensing distance for the BWC40-10H is 1 to 7 m. This sensing distance differs from an object to another, based on their material, dimension, etc. Standard sensing target for this sensor is min. Ø50mm of opaque material.
