The PRL30-15AO inductive proximity sensor features stable sensing performance and excellent noise immunity with a specialized sensor IC developed by Autonics. Available in m30 size and 15 mm sensing distance, the standard cylindrical inductive sensor can be used in diverse applications requiring non-contact detection of metallic objects. This proximity sensor is available in AC 2-wire type. The PRL30-15AO comes in a round cylindrical shape, with non-shield (non-flush) installation.

Body
The case and nut parts of the PRL30-15AO proximity sensor are made of nickel plated brass, its washer is made of nickel plated iron and sensing side of it is PBT made.
Ingress protection of this inductive sensor is IP67 according to IEC standard, which means this sensor can work properly while it’s dropped in water with depth of up to 1 meter, for at most half an hour.
The proximity sensor features a red LED on its body as the process indicator.
Connection
The PRL30-15AO connection is cable type. This standard cable is black, with a 5 mm diameter and a 2 m length. The PVC made cable covers the sensor’s 2 wires.
Sensing specifications
The sensing side diameter of PRL30-15AO is 30 mm. The maximum distance that this sensor can detect the standard sensing target in, is called the sensing distance and equals to 15 mm. The sensing distance differs for one sensing target to another, based on the target’s material, size, etc. This sensor’s standard target is a 45x45x1 mm piece made of iron.
Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive proximity sensor, it should be announced that for this sensor, it is 0 to 10.5 mm. setting distance describes the distance in which the proximity sensor can detect the standard sensing target, even if the sensing distance is decreased due to temperature or voltage fluctuations.
Control output
The control output of this sensor is Normally Open, which means that there would be no voltage on the output while the sensor is not actuated.
Temperature
There are limitations in temperature and humidity in which PRL30-15AO proximity sensor is used:
- Ambient temperature: -25 … 70°C
- Ambient humidity: 35 to 95%RH
- Storage temperature: -30 … 80°C
- Storage humidity: 35 to 95%RH
Environment resistance is rated at no freezing or condensation.
