Body

This Autonics proximity sensor’s case and nut parts are made of nickel-plated brass, its sensing side is made of PBT, and its washer is nickel plated iron made.

The PRCML18-8DN features IP67 ingress protection.

The red LED on its body acts as the process indicator.

Connection

The Autonics proximity sensor PRCML18-8DN features standard cable type connection. This black cable covers the sensor’s 3 wires.

Sensing specifications

This inductive sensor’s sensing side diameter is 18 mm. The maximum distance that this M18 NPN NO proximity sensor can detect its standard sensing target, which is an 25x25x1 mm piece of iron, is 8 mm. This so-called sensing distance differs from one sensing target to another, based on their material, size, etc.

Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive sensor, it is a big deal to know this concept.
