The Autonics proximity sensor PRDCM12-8DP features outstanding noise protection and stable sensing performance due to its specialized sensor IC developed by Autonics. This sensor comes in a round cylindrical shape, sensing distance of 8mm, sensing side diameter and housing size of m12 and Non-shield (non-flush) installation. The standard cylindrical inductive sensor can be used in diverse applications requiring non-contact detection of metallic objects.

Body

This Autonics proximity sensor’s case and nut parts are made of nickel-plated brass

The PRDCM12-8DP features IP67 ingress protection.

The red LED on its body acts as the process indicator.

Connection

The Autonics proximity sensor PRDCM12-8DP features standard cable type connection. This cable covers the sensor’s 3 wires.

Sensing specifications

This Autonics PRD series inductive sensor’s sensing side diameter is 12 mm. The maximum distance that this sensor can detect its standard sensing target, which is a 25x25x1 mm piece of iron, is 8 mm. This so-called sensing distance differs from one sensing target to another, based on their material, size, etc.

Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive sensor, it is a big deal to know this concept. Every sensor can detect its standard sensing target in a specified range, no matter what changes occur in ambient temperature, voltage fluctuations, etc. This distance, which is called the setting distance, is from 0 to 5.6 mm for this proximity sensor.

Control output

The PRDCM12-8DP features PNP Normally Open control output. PNP stands for Positive-Negative-Positive transistors.

Temperature

There are limitations in temperature and humidity in which PRDCM12-8DP PNP proximity sensor is used:

Environment resistance is rated at no freezing or condensation.
