Autonics inductive proximity sensor PRAT12-2DC

Cylindrical, Spatter-Resistant, High protection class

 

The PRAT12-2DC Autonics proximity sensor is PTFE coated for high heat resistance and prevention of malfunctions caused by welding spatter. This sensor also features excellent noise immunity with a specialized sensor IC developed by Autonics. The sensor is ideal for welding applications and can be used as an alternative to spatter-resistant limit switches. The PRAT12-2DC is a DC 2-wire type proximity sensor.

Body

The PRAT12-2DC case is made of PTFE coated brass, its washer is made of PTFE coated iron, and the material of its sensing side is PTFE.

Protection structure of this proximity sensor is IP67 (IEC standard).

This sensor has a red LED as the operation indicator on its body.

Connection

Connection of the PRAT12-2DC is connector type which consists of a 4-pin M12 connector. This standard cable is black and made of PVC.

Sensing specifications

The diameter of the PRAT12-2DC sensing side is 12 mm and its sensing distance is 2 mm. Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive sensor, it should be announced that for this sensor, it is 0 to 1.4 mm.

Also, it should always be considered that this data is reported for the secure and standard sensing target, which is a 12x12x1 mm piece made of iron, for this product.

Control output

Temperature

There are limitations in environment temperature and humidity in which PRAT12-2DC proximity sensor is used:

  • Storage temperature: -30 … 80°C
  • Storage humidity: 35 to 95%RH

Environment resistance is rated at no freezing or condensation.

It’s better not to use this product outside of these ranges, in order to keep it stable.
