Autonics inductive proximity sensor – PR12-4AO-V
High durability, Normally Open, Non-shield (non-flush)
The PR12-4AO-V inductive proximity sensor features solid sensing performance and excellent noise immunity with a specialized sensor IC developed by Autonics. This standard cylindrical inductive sensor can be easily used in diverse applications requiring detection of metallic objects without any direct contact.
As a quick report, this inductive proximity sensor provides:

Body
The PR12-4AO-V case is made of nickel-plated brass, its washer is made of nickel-plated iron, and the material of its sensing side is PBT.
Protection structure of this proximity sensor is IP67 (IEC standard).
This sensor has a red LED as the operation indicator on its body.
Connection
Connection of the PR12-4AO-V is cable type which contains a cable covering its 2 wires. This oil resistant cable is gray and made of oil resistant PVC.
Sensing specifications
The diameter of the PR12-4AO-V sensing side is 12 mm and its sensing distance is 4 mm. Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive sensor, it should be announced that for this sensor, it is 0 to 2.8 mm.
Also, it should always be considered that this data is reported for the secure and standard sensing target, which is an 12x12x1 mm piece made of iron, for this product.
Control output
The control output of the case study proximity sensor is Normally Open.
Temperature
There are limitations in environment temperature and humidity in which PR12-4AO-V proximity sensor is used:
- Ambient temperature: -25 … 70°C
- Ambient humidity: 35 to 95%RH
- Storage temperature: -30 … 80°C
- Storage humidity: 35 to 95%RH
Environment resistance is rated at no freezing or condensation.
It’s better not to use this product outside of these ranges, in order to keep it stable.
