The Autonics cylindrical inductive sensor PRDCM12-4DN features outstanding noise protection and stable sensing performance due to its specialized sensor IC developed by Autonics. Body

This Autonics inductive type sensor’s case and nut parts are made of nickel-plated brass, its sensing side is made of PBT, and its washer is nickel plated iron made.

The PRDCM12-4DN features IP67 ingress protection.

The red LED on its body acts as the process indicator.

Connection

The Autonics proximity sensor PRDCM12-4DN features standard cable type connection. This black cable covers the sensor’s 3 wires, and is made of PVC.

Sensing specifications

This inductive type sensor’s sensing side diameter is 18 mm. The maximum distance that this sensor can detect its standard sensing target, which is a 18x18x1 mm piece of iron, is 5 mm. This so-called sensing distance differs from one sensing target to another, based on their material, size, etc.

Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive sensor, it is a big deal to know this concept. Every sensor can detect its standard sensing target in a specified range, no matter what changes occur in ambient temperature, voltage fluctuations, etc. This distance, which is called the setting distance, is from 0 to 2.8 mm for this proximity sensor.

Control output

The PRDCM12-4DN features PNP Normally Open control output. PNP stands for Positive-Negative-Positive transistors.

Temperature

There are limitations in temperature and humidity in which PRDCM12-4DN proximity sensor is used:

• Storage temperature: -30 … 80°C

• Storage humidity: 35 to 95%RH

• Ambient temperature: -25 … 70°C

• Ambient humidity: 35 to 95%RH

Environment resistance is rated at no freezing or condensation.
