Inductive Sensor M30, NPN NO, Flush – PRDCM30-15DN

DESCRIPTION

Autonics inductive proximity sensor M30, NPN NO – PRDCM30-15DN

Shield (flush), Cable type connection, 15 mm Sensing distance

The cylindrical inductive sensor PRDCM30-15DN features outstanding noise protection and stable sensing performance due to its specialized sensor IC developed by Autonics. This NPN NO sensor comes in a round cylindrical shape, sensing distance of 15mm, sensing side diameter and housing size of m30 and shield (flush) installation. The standard cylindrical inductive sensor can be used in diverse applications requiring non-contact detection of metallic objects.

As a quick report, this inductive proximity sensor provides:

  • 30 mm sensing side diameter
  • NPN Normally Open control output
  • 15 mm sensing distance
  • Shield (flush) installation
  • Long sensing distance
  • Advanced durability as comprehensive existing case and rear cap structure
  • Easy to check operation from various angles with 4-side LED
  • Shorten the time of maintenance
  • Improved noise resistance
  • Built-in surge protection, reverse polarity protection, overcurrent protection circuit
  • IP67 ingress protection structure according to IEC standards
  • Red LED status indicator.

Body

This proximity sensor’s case and nut parts are made of nickel-plated brass, its sensing side is made of PBT, and its washer is nickel plated iron made.

The PRDCM30-15DN features IP67 ingress protection.

The red LED on its body acts as the process indicator.

Connection

The Autonics proximity sensor PRDCM30-15DN features standard cable type connection. This cable covers the sensor’s 3 wires.

Sensing specifications

This inductive sensor’s sensing side diameter is 30 mm. The maximum distance that this NPN NO sensor can detect its standard sensing target, which is a 45x45x1 mm piece of iron, is 15 mm. This so-called sensing distance differs from one sensing target to another, based on their material, size, etc.

Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive sensor, it is a big deal to know this concept. Every sensor can detect its standard sensing target in a specified range, no matter what changes occur in ambient temperature, voltage fluctuations, etc. This distance, which is called the setting distance, is from 0 to 10.5 mm for this proximity sensor.

Control output

The PRDCM30-15DN features NPN Normally Open control output. NPN stands for Negative-Positive-Negative transistors.

Temperature

There are limitations in temperature and humidity in which PRDCM30-15DN proximity sensor is used:

  • Storage temperature: -30 … 80°C
  • Storage humidity: 35 to 95%RH
  • Ambient temperature: -25 … 70°C
  • Ambient humidity: 35 to 95%RH

Environment resistance is rated at no freezing or condensation.
