The Autonics proximity sensor PRL30-10DN features outstanding noise protection and stable sensing performance due to its specialized sensor IC developed by Autonics. This PR series proximity sensor distance comes in a round cylindrical shape, sensing distance of 10mm, sensing side diameter and housing size of m30 and shield (flush) installation. The standard cylindrical inductive sensor can be used in diverse applications requiring non-contact detection of metallic objects.

Body

This proximity sensor’s case and nut parts are made of nickel-plated brass, its sensing side is made of PBT, and its washer is nickel plated iron made.

The PRL30-10DN features IP67 ingress protection.

The red LED on its body acts as the process indicator.

Connection

The PRL30-10DN features standard cable type connection. This black cable covers the sensor’s 3 wires. It is 5 mm in diameter and 2 meters in length, and is made of PVC.

Sensing specifications

This inductive sensor’s sensing side diameter is 30 mm. This proximity sensor distance, which is the maximum distance that the sensor can detect its standard sensing target is 10 mm. Its standard sensing target is a 30x30x1 mm piece of iron, This so-called sensing distance differs from one sensing target to another, based on their material, size, etc.

Although almost no one talks about the setting distance of an inductive sensor, it is a big deal to know this concept. Every sensor can detect its standard sensing target in a specified range, no matter what changes occur in ambient temperature, voltage fluctuations, etc. This distance, which is called the setting distance, is from 0 to 7 mm for this proximity sensor.

Control output

The PRL30-10DN features NPN Normally Open control output. NPN stands for Negative-Positive-Negative transistors.

There are limitations in temperature and humidity in which PRL30-10DN proximity sensor is used:

Environment resistance is rated at no freezing or condensation.
